Alpe d’Huez time trial

Rich, Timothy and Dave make good use of the scenic facilities.

It became apparent why a guide was needed. The route was not easy to follow, here passing through a tiny village.

So near, yet so far. Across a deep valley, just above Pieters head, can be seen the destination, turn number 6 from the top.

The trail turned and headed up the valley (away from Alpe d’Huez) and down steeply.

The path led to a bridge across the stream at the bottom.

On the other side, the conditions were dusty and getting hot.

Finally at corner number 6, the Tour de France caravan rushed by. Gifts were tossed to the crowd.
