La Clusaz to Séez

Craig Breed pushes off from the hotel on the first full day of riding.

The climbing starts from the get-go as the group makes its way through La Clusaz.

Very shortly the town can be seen below. The Hotel Christiana is at the far right.

Up ahead, mountains. The first pass of the day, Col des Aravis (4,875 ft / 1,486 m).

Mai settles in to a steady pace—the only way to get up such long climbs.

The road winds its way up a valley.

Rising up on either side are sawtooth peaks.

Ted stays on Craig’s wheel.

Craig has his helmet back on. It’s the top.

Time to descend.
