The main climb of the day, Col de la Madeleine (1,993 m, 6,539 ft). Some tough climbing at the beginning. Easier grades towards the top.

Having descended off Madeleine, the route follows a valley heading towards Albertville. Here, passing through the town of Esserts Blay.
