  • 2015 Kids Ride Club Fundraiser

2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Kids Ride Club. More than 1,000 youngsters have participated over the years and learned to incorporate cycling into their lifestyles.  The NYCC has been a strong and stalwart supporter for two decades providing volunteer leaders and mentors, financial support and by inviting kids to ride in ENY every year.  Please come out on March 1 and join other club members and KRC participants in a wonderful fundraising event. There will be food, drink, a great silent auction and a terrific film about a young Saudi Arabian girl who desperately wants to ride her bike!  Please click on the link below to find out the details and to register for the event.   Looking forward to seeing you there

Kids Ride Club Captain

Kids Ride Club (KRC): The KRC was founded,19 years ago, in partnership with Recycle-A-Bicycle, managed and is still led by Dr. Edward Fishkin, NYCC Lifetime Member. In the spring, summer, and fall we take youth ages 10-17 on bicycle rides throughout New York City. We maintain a fleet of bicycles and provide helmets, all free of charge. Participants learn about safe cycling on city streets and group riding. Participants also learn firsthand about the benefits of eating well and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. Significantly, each ride has a "cultural lunch destination" (e.g. Gracie Hall, Coney Island, museums throughout the city, NYU Swimming pool, miniature golf). Parents and educators are encouraged to participate, too! Kids Ride Club is generously supported through our community partners at Woodhull Hospital, New York Cycle Club, Bike New York, PS 257, and IS 318.

The Ride Club schedule runs from April through October and supports 18 scheduled destinations. All rides begin at 10am from the Recycle-A-Bicycle workspace in Long Island City, Queens at 46-01 5th Street. All participants must provide a signed permission slip to ride.
