NYCC and the Ride Librarians thank Neile Weissman for this spectacular 100-mile ride that has become a Club classic and never fails to please.

The ride begins at the Babylon LIRR station and heads east through picturesque Long Island towns including Bay Shore, the Hamptons, Quogue.  At Hampton Bays the route turns back westbound to end at the Ronkonkama LIRR.  Along the way you will enjoy The Dunes, many Long Island parks and quiet country roads.   Finishing century riders have been known to celebrate by buying beer at the Ronkonkama LIRR station to enjoy on the train ride home (if you are in a bind, bike cleats make great beer bottle openers, btw).

With only about 1700 feet of climbing, this is a particularly wonderful route for slow B and C riders who want to get that first 100-mile ride under their belt.  Note that if there is any wind on ride day the route is such that you will have a nice tail wind for one half of the ride and a head wind for the other half.  There are many options for pit stops, lunch, bathrooms and LIRR bail outs.  However, with respect to route bail outs, please check LIRR inbound schedules for the day you are riding as bicycles may be prohibited on certain dates.

There is a Key for cue sheet instructions at the end of the cue sheet should you have questions.   JB 1/27/23.  Date last ridden:  10/15/22
