Alpe d’Huez (6,102 ft / 1,860 m) awaits. The day begins with a ride along a ridge overlooking the valley far, far below.

No one spoke on this stretch of road. The breathtaking views and the narrowness of the road (with no guardrails) kept everyone very focused. The road ended up on Alpe d’Huez climb. Most everyone descended to the bottom and then did the entire climb.

No photos of the Alpe d’Huez climb. Everyone rode their own pace and most everyone did a time just over an hour. The shot shows the group and van at the top.

Ted, Mai and Timothy pose at the turn from the town of Huez onto the next stretch of road.

This was another road running along a ridge with breathtaking views. Here Marcy poses at a scenic spot. Beyond her switchbacks of Alpe d’Huez can be seen.
