How is the surface on the Joseph B. Clarke rail trail between Ash Street and Oak Tree Road? Is it manageable on 23 tires?

No Problem

It's quite nice. Done myself several times, from the Western Hwy. side, in Tappan. There's a nice wooden pedestrian/bike bridge. It'll take you to Piermont. Just be careful making the left turn when you get off.

Thanks!

Thanks, Alfredo! I expect to be heading to Northvale from Piermont this Sunday and I should give it a try then.

You're Welcome
Forgot to mention--the trail is all paved asphalt. I've ridden my Trek 520 bike with 32mm and currently 25mm road tires. The bridge goes over Rt. 303, which provides a nice view above the traffic Alfredo

That section is I believe

That section is I believe still unpaved. I haven't been on it in at least 6 years but it used to be dirt and coarse gravel. Once in Sparkill you can pick up the paved section that takes you to Oak Tree. The section from Ash comes out under the north end of the viaduct at 340.
